Implementation Directions

Support for Tourism Industry

(Create an ideal tourism service environment) Improve customer satisfaction by renewing and improving the quality and promoting the charm of major tourism services, such as tourist information, transportation, accommodations, shopping, and food tourism

  • (Advance tourist information services) Improve service accessibility and convenience by digitalizing services provided by the 1330 Korea Travel Helpline, and accumulating and utilizing a consultation database, as well as strengthening promotion targeted towards both domestic and foreign tourists
  • (Enhance mobility convenience by improving transportation for tourists) Support improvement of regional tourist transportation according to local characteristics to improve FITs’ accessibility
  • (Build and promote regional accommodation infrastructure) Support creating a unique and safe accommodation infrastructure by reinforcing the safety of and promoting regional accommodation facilities such as minbak (Korean-style guesthouse) and hanok (traditional Korean house) hotels.
  • (Enhance the convenience of regional shopping tours) Induce revitalization of regional tourism by facilitating shopping for foreign tourists, and through promotion and marketing
  • (Enhance the convenience and attractiveness of food tours) Expand the food tour infrastructure and support the development and promotion of major gourmand tours

(Reinforce service competitiveness in the tourism industry) Support business development and strengthen service competitiveness by strengthening capabilities of tourism enterprises and tourism souvenir businesses

  • (Digital innovation of travel agencies) Promote the growth of digital-based tourism services by supporting digital transformation and consultations for travel agencies
  • (Strengthen the competitiveness of tourist souvenirs) Develop differentiated representative tourist souvenirs by supporting the entire process of making a apromising tourist souvenir, including development, expert consultation and market cultivation
  • (Innovate shopping tourism services) Strengthen the competitiveness of shopping tourism services by supporting the expansion of tax-free shops and mobile payment services

Support for Tourism Enterprises

  • (Strengthen hubs to foster tourism enterprises) Advance the roles and functions of the Tourism Business Support Centers in Seoul and other areas by strengthening the one-stop services for tourism enterprises
  • (Multi-party collaboration with tourism enterprises) Support vitalizing collaboration projects among members in the tourism ecosystem, including tourism enterprises, local governments, global companies, and investors
  • (Support the growth of tourism enterprises) Help innovative tourism enterprises grow into unicorns by supporting their advancement into overseas markets
  • (Make HiKR Ground a Korean tourism landmark) Develop HiKR Ground into a hallyu and regional tourism promotion hub and strengthen its role in exchanging with and assisting tourism businesses

Nurturing Tourism Talents

  • (Support the tourism industry to resolve manpower shortage) Help resolve manpower shortage in the tourism industry by matching companies and job seekers and strengthening the skills and competence of job seekers.
  • (Nurture talents through integrated tourism education platform) Operate a education platform that can be utilized by businesses in the tourism industry, related organizations and schools to drastically expand demand for tourism education
  • (Strengthen digital capabilities of the travel industry) Strengthen capabilities of tourism enterprises’ response to markets in the future by developing contents to improve digital capabilities and providing customized education
  • (Nurture “convergent” working-level talents) Nurture “convergent” talents (both workers and job seekers) at working-level so that they can lead digital- and big data-based innovation in the tourism industry

  • (Tourists) Promote interesting and attractive smart experiences, and add convenience to raise the level of satisfaction for both domestic and foreign tourists
