Implementation Directions

Support the Digital Transformation of Korea’s Tourism and the Tourism Industry

  • (Strategy) Promote the creation of a K-digital tourism ecosystem centered on collaboration, linkage, and openness by leveraging Korea’s five major public tourism platforms
  • (Collaboration) Create collaborative networks between the tourism industry and others to vitalize internal and external digital tourism services and promote creating converged tourism businesses
  • (Linkage) ▴ Create new media contents linked to regional tourism to spread K-culture globally, and lead promotional and marketing activities ▴ Create a virtuous cycle by linking the KTO’s B2B customers, services, and data by leveraging industry portals
  • (Openness) Maintain top-level quality control to share and utilize digital resources (data/services) and further expand the expert know-how of “informatization” business internally and externally

Improve Quality of Tourism Big Data and Promote Its Use

  • (Purpose) Provide tourism big data services where companies, regional governments, and the public can experience its impact and serve as a public platform to create a national digital tourism industry ecosystem
  • (Project details) Build a tourism big data platform that can systematically collect, accumulate, analyze, and share tourism data in the private and public sectors, and develop/provide customized tourism big data analytics services, and make data public
  • (Customers) Stakeholders in the tourism industry, including tourism enterprises, regional governments/RTOs, academic circles, and the public

Support for Digital Marketing

  • (Overseas advertising) Run Korean tourism ads abroad to capture tourism demand
  • (Platform) Utilize the VisitKorea and KTO9suk9suk websites as key marketing platforms
  • (Mobile) Develop VisitKorea and KTO9suk9suk into super apps and improve mobile information services
  • (Content) Strengthen service competitiveness by integrating, opening and utilizing tourism contents
